Pet Portraits by Sue

I love to capture the heart and soul of every pet in my oil on canvas paintings.  Creating a keepsake and celebrating the memory of a beloved dog, cat or horse is my goal. Provide me with a photo or photos and let the process begin!

Art has always been my focus since childhood. It was definitely my favourite subject at school and was my focus in my degree work at York University in Toronto. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts focussing on art, film and music and a Bachelor of Education degree. I taught art at the elementary and high school levels with the North York and Grey County school boards. After painting landscapes in oil, it was the photo of a fox that compelled me to paint an animal. That painting is on my website.  Painting pet portraits evolved after a few friends asked if I would paint their grand dogs. I have never looked back!

Frequently Asked Questions

I can definitely put multiple pets in a painting. Pricing is determined by the canvas size and whether or not I am working from one or multiple photos!

Pet portraits are priced by size.  The most popular sizes are the following:
12 x 12   $350.
12 x 16.  $400.
Happy to discuss larger sizes!
A deposit of 50% is required at the time of ordering.

My standard pet portraits sizes can be completed and ready to ship within 3 weeks! Drying time is an important consideration however, especially if it is a rush order!

Once I see the photo or photos that you submit and determine exactly what you are interested in, I will suggest the size of canvas you will need.
